Yeyelua to lead Egbe Bobakeye Obirin of Ijero -Ekiti at this year Ita Ajero Festival celebration

Chief (Mrs) Mary Yemisi Ayilola,The Yeyelua of Ijero -Ekiti,a socialite, philanthropist and business tycoon who is also the patroness of the Progressive Men’s Club (PMC), Ijero-Ekiti,New Joyful Sisters Club, Diamond Women’s Club, Ijero-Ekiti and the Home makers Club,Ijero-Ekiti is also the founding President of the Egbe Bobakeye Obirin of Ijero -Ekiti, Ekiti State of Nigeria.

She has contributed enormously to the modern development of Ijero -Ekiti despite the fact that she lives and works in the United States of America for more than three decades but she didn’t forget her African roots.

Chief (Mrs)Mary Ayilola is the founding President of Egbe Bobakeye Obirin of Ijero -Ekiti both at home and in Diaspora.One of the over sixty (60) social clubs and associations that is set to participate in this August;Ita Ajero Cultural Festival celebration in Ijero -Ekiti.

According to Yeyelua of Ijero-Ekiti,”the Egbe Bobakeye Obirin mission is to promote and honour the ancient royal stool of Owa Ajero of Ijero Kingdom,the fourth direct Prince of Olofin Oduduwa the legendary progenitor of Yorubas from Ile- Ife.”

“The Egbe Bobakeye is a socio cultural club that is open to all women of Ijero-Ekiti origin both at home and abroad and including women that is married to Ijero man who are of good virtues and financially formidable to contribute to the aims and objectives of the Association.”

The vision of this Egbe is to honour the ancient royal stool of Owa Ajero of Ijero Kingdom and uphold the good image of Ijero -Ekiti amongst the communities in Ekiti State of Nigeria .

“We will put smiles on the faces of all Ijero womenfolk. We will uphold the honour and glory of Ijero -Ekiti in our generation. ” Yeyelua said.

Over the past few months of the organisation, membership has grown immensely and still growing before the formal launch of the club on Ita Ajero Cultural Festival celebration Day in August .

According to Yeyelua of Ijero -Ekiti who is also the Founding President of the Egbe Bobakeye Obirin of Ijero -Ekiti,the Aims and Objectives of the Egbe Bobakeye Obirin are :

To promote absolute
unity, mutual understanding, peace, and love among members.

To render helping hands to needy members when such situation arises
based on genuineness, authenticity and approval by the executive council.

To promote social interaction among the illustrious daughters of Ijero –
Ekiti and to develop the Ijero Ekiti youths and redirect the trajectory of
the derailing ones in our own capacity

To empower our youths, women and the aged ones in our community

To award scholarships to deserving students within our community in
order to encourage competition and other students

As good ambassadors of Ijero Ekiti, to showcase our culture and
traditions at the annual Ita Ajero Cultural Festivals and promote our culture and traditions in any society we find ourselves

To contribute our own quota to the developmental projects of Ijero Ekiti at
large
To interface with other social groups and clubs in our community in order

9 To promote peace and unity and at the same time encourage contributions
toward developmental projects.

With these laudable vision,aims and objectives,The Egbe Bobakeye Obirin of Ijero -Ekiti is set to be the pacesetter and harbinger of promotion of the cultural heritage and values of the good people of Ijero -Ekiti to the world.

Yeyelua Yemisi Ayilola,the founder of Yemeco Hopeful Foundation is a highly reputable, admirable and a pleasant personality. She is also a professional nurse. Her love for children made her to have special interest in pediatric nursing, which she is doing with great passion.
As a Business Tycoon, entrepreneur and fashionista, she learnt the art of jewelry making and eventually ventured into the flourishing business, with the business name YEMECO CLASSIC FASHIONS, BEADS and GEMS LLC, a business duly incorporated under the requisite law in Maryland, USA.

Her passion in giving back to communities made her found YEMECO HOPEFUL FOUNDATION (YHF) (a duly incorporated NGO with the Corporate Affairs Commission {CAC}, Nigeria) in memory of her late parents, late Pa Joseph Owolawi Ajayi and Deaconess Felicia Egbewamide Ajayi. YHF is an organisation set up to cater for the needy, widows, widowers, orphans, and the less privileged.

Chief (Mrs) Oluwayemisi Ayilola, the Chairperson of the maiden edition of Ita Ajero Cultural Festival is
happily married to Mr. James Ladipo Ayilola of the Fagbemiro family in Ijero-Ekiti.She is presently an executive member of the Central Caretaker Committee of the Ijero Development Association (IDA), the apex coordinating body of all associations of Ijero sons and daughters .She is also one of the stalwart of the Ita Ajero Cultural Festival celebration since inception in August 2024.
