SENATE LEADER FELICITATES WITH EKITI EX-DEPUTY GOVERNOR, PROF.ADELABU ON HER 75TH BIRTHDAY

The Senate Leader , National Assembly, Senator (Dr.) Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, CON has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Prof. Modupe Adelabu on her 75th birthday.

Prof.Modupe Adeola Adelabu, who is also the former Chair of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), was Deputy Governor of Ekiti State between May 8, 2013 and October 15, 2014.

The Senate Leader who is also the Senator representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Ekiti State at the National Assembly in a Birthday message stated that,

” I am very delighted to join your family,friends, admirers and the good people of Ekiti State to celebrate with you on this special occasion of your 75th birthday celebrations.

We thank God for the grace He has given you to thrive as a retired Professor of Educational Administration,accomplished politician and distinguished Stateswoman who has made indelible marks in our state and nation.

I am always proud of your cerebral, acumen and depth of experience and capacity as a resourceful educationist and astute administrator.

I want to congratulate you on this milestone in life,may your strength be firm.

Happy birthday to the most iconic role model. Your teachings have shaped our future in the best way.

Wishing you a long life, good health and all the happiness that your heart desires!”

Prof.Modupe Adelabu is not just a great leader but also a worthy Amazon and cerebral intellectual who is a pacesetter, pathfinder, and beacon of light to us.

Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele who is popularly called MOB by his political fans said ;Prof. Adelabu’s tenure as Deputy Governor was short but remarkable, adding that she contributed immensely to democracy ,good governance and development of Ekiti State and handled her official assignments with passion,emotional intelligence and unwavering commitment to the value of excellence and honour.The Senate Leader also described Prof. Adelabu as an exemplar, cerebral scholar, transformational leader in both private and public duties as a woman of influence and substance that we all proud of .

Prof. Modupe Adeola precedence as a University Don and Professor in the Department of Educational Administration at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife since 2008 has also made her to be a consultant to major developmental partners and international agencies such as the World Bank, United Nations Development Programmes (UNDP); United Nations, Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (UNESCO), Department for International Development and Universal Basic Education Commission where she had served meritoriously.

Prof. Adelabu’s tenure as the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Ekiti State witnessed good success in the areas of infrastructure, manpower development of teachers, procurement of instructional materials, among others.

She was born on May 23,1950 to the family of Prince Samuel Adepoju Adejugbe and Princess Abigail Opeyemi Adejugbe.She is thus a Princess of Oba Ajimudaoro Aladesanmi 1,the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti who reigned from 1886 to 1910 and she married to Late Prince(Dr) Adedeji Adelabu,a scion of Oba Olamiloye Oyiyosoye,the Ajero of Ijero-Ekiti,who reigned from 1866 to 1901 and one of the signatories of the Yoruba Peace Treaty of September 23rd 1886.The marriage is blessed with children and grandchildren.

Senator Bamidele prayed God to grant the erudite scholar and politician, Professor Modupe Adelabu long life and prosperity, good health and sound mind,and wishes her more years of selfless service to the state in particular and the country in general.
