PROMOTING INCLUSION AND EMPOWERMENT: SENATOR OPEYEMI BAMIDELE’S LANDMARK TRAINING FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES IN EKITI STATE

By Oluyemi Ojo

In a remarkable demonstration of compassionate and inclusive leadership, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele has once again reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and development of all constituents through a two-day capacity-building and empowerment programme for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Ekiti State. The programme, scheduled for June 10 and 11, 2026, at the BJC Event Hall along Federal Polytechnic Road, Ado-Ekiti, stands as a significant milestone in the quest for an equitable and inclusive society.

The initiative is designed to foster a stronger sense of belonging among Persons with Disabilities by ensuring their active participation in governance and socio-economic development. It reflects Senator Bamidele’s conviction that every citizen, regardless of physical ability, deserves equal opportunities to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.

Throughout the training, participants will be exposed to practical skills acquisition programmes, health awareness sessions, and empowerment opportunities tailored to improve their quality of life. These interventions are expected to enhance their economic independence, boost self-confidence, and equip them with the tools needed to navigate daily challenges more effectively.

The programme is a shining example of purposeful leadership that prioritizes human capital development and social inclusion. By investing in the capacity and welfare of Persons with Disabilities, Senator Bamidele is not only addressing immediate needs but also laying the foundation for sustainable empowerment and long-term community development.

The beneficiaries of this initiative deserve commendation for their resilience, determination, and unwavering spirit despite the challenges many of them face. Their participation underscores a collective desire to learn, grow, and contribute positively to society when given the right support and opportunities.

As Ekiti State continues to advance on the path of development, initiatives such as this serve as powerful reminders that true progress is measured not merely by infrastructure and economic growth but by the extent to which every member of society is included. Senator Opeyemi Bamidele’s thoughtful intervention is therefore worthy of praise and serves as an inspiring model of inclusive governance and people-centered leadership.
