EKITI SUMMIT AWARDS 2026: Hon. Biodun Omoleye Emerges Political Leader of the Year
Hon. Biodun Omoleye has been named Political Leader of the Year at the prestigious Ekiti Summit Awards 2026 in recognition of his impactful leadership, grassroots development initiatives, and contributions to legislative governance.
Popularly known as HBO, Hon. Omoleye represents Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II — covering Ijero, Ekiti West, and Efon Local Government Areas — in Nigeria’s 10th National Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Since assuming office in June 2023, the lawmaker has gained attention for his people-oriented representation, constituency projects, and legislative interventions focused on education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development.
Among his notable legislative efforts is the sponsorship of a bill seeking the establishment of a Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery in Ijero-Ekiti, alongside advocacy for reforms in Nigeria’s disaster management system.
Hon. Omoleye has also executed several constituency projects, including solar-powered streetlight installations across communities, provision of a 33,000 KVA transformer in Efon-Alaaye, construction of classrooms, and the ongoing development of a National Youth Centre in Ijurin-Ekiti.
His empowerment programmes for youths, women, artisans, farmers, students, and persons living with disabilities have also earned widespread commendation across the constituency.
Before his election into the House of Representatives, he served in several strategic public offices, including Chairman of Ijero Local Government, Special Adviser on Governance Policy and Strategy, and Chief of Staff to the Governor of Ekiti State between 2018 and 2022.
Stakeholders say his accessibility, grassroots engagement, and commitment to long-term development make him a deserving recipient of the Ekiti Summit Political Leader of the Year Award 2026.
