TRADITION MEETS LEADERSHIP: SENATOR YEMI ADARAMODU INSTALLED AS GBOBANIYI OF IRO-EKITI

In a colourful and culturally rich ceremony held in the heart of Iro-Ekiti, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, was on Saturday, July 26, 2025, installed as Gbobaniyi of Iro-Ekiti by the revered Kabiyesi, Oba Adeniyi Afolabi Felix, the Oniro of Iro.

The title, steeped in history and cultural significance, was bestowed in recognition of his unwavering connection to the community and enduring contributions to the progress of Ekiti State.

In his remarks, Senator Adaramodu fondly recalled his first encounter with Kabiyesi during his tenure as Chief of Staff to former Governor Kayode Fayemi. He stressed that political legacy is not anchored in titles or tenure, but in selfless service to humanity—a principle, he asserted, that cultivates goodwill and leaves behind lasting impact.

He reaffirmed his devotion to Iro Ekiti and assured the gathering that his projects and interventions for the town would begin to unfold before the close of the year. He pledged to join the Oniro-in-Council, and promised his support for the council’s developmental efforts.

In a charged appeal, Senator Adaramodu passionately implored the good people of Iro-Ekiti to stand firmly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the nation approaches the 2027 general elections. He equally urged unwavering support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji, emphasizing the importance of continuity in governance, and advocating for his second term in office to steer Ekiti State toward sustained development through 2030.

To address youth unemployment, the Senator encouraged young applicants seeking recruitment under the Federal Ministry of Interior to forward their credentials to his office. As a symbol of his commitment to youth inclusion, he announced the immediate appointment of a native youth as his Senatorial Personal Assistant, effective August 1st.

In the domain of empowerment and livelihood enhancement, he encouraged artisans in need of tools to channel their requests through the newly appointed Personal Assistant. He pledged assistance to enable them to acquire the instruments necessary to elevate their trades and improve their earnings.

Senator Adaramodu concluded with fervent prayers for peace, prosperity, and progress in Iro Ekiti. He expressed his hope that his reign as GBOBANIYI would usher in an era of unity and advancement, guided by compassion, wisdom, and a deep sense of communal responsibility.
