66-YEAR ON THE THRONE: ONIGEDE OF IGEDE-EKITI DESERVES NATIONAL HONOUR

By: Adekunle Oke (Exponent),
Ẹlẹgbẹpa’s Compound, Odo-Uri Quarters,
Igede-Ekiti.

Onigede of Igede-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru II, JP, Petu-Bi-Owuro, as the longest-reigning monarch in Nigeria, 66-year on the throne and still counting and 92 years of age and still living as well, deserves one of the Federal Republic of Nigeria NATIONAL HONOURS, be it, MON, OFR, CON, OON or MFR.

His reigning and living remain unprecedented and he deserves to be honoured while still alive.

I beseech the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, all well-meaning Nigerians, the government of Ekiti State under the able leadership of His Excellency, Gov. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, the 3 distinguished Senators and 6 Honourable Members of the Federal House of Representatives representing the general interest of Ekiti people at the National Assembly and other movers and shakers of this Nation to please avail this suggestion, a national discussion for consideration.

Let us all remember that when we recognise and celebrate our leaders, we are indirectly honouring ourselves and posterity will judge our actions and inactions.

Thank you all and God bless.
